​Music video timeline

1927-1965

The Jazz Singer was the first film to use audio-visual synchronization. It then became possible to watch a music performance that wasn't live for the first time!. Before then, you could only listen to your musicians, view a photo of how they looked, or get lucky and catch them live.

1965-1974

​The film technology and 16mm getting cheaper and more accessible so that this period has experience the rise of broadcast television and the growth in pop culture (late 60s and early 70s was the time exploring this new phenomenons. We Can Work it Out (The Beatles) was created the interesting things at that time to show the audience how film and music work together. It is also considered as a first music video to broadcast on television.. The Beatles were already making some very popular full feature movies and were looking for a way to promote their record releases without having to make in-person appearances (primarily the USA). The concept is fairly straight forward and was meant to blend in with the television shows that were being made at the time. The Beatle became the most famous bands in the world with their modern music video

1974-1992

The open door of the endless possibilities of the video revolution, create the new platform that kill the radio star, Bohemian Rhapsody was the music video that global hit of that time. Killed the Radio Star was the first music video aired on MTV  prophesizes the impact that it will have in the music industry. Music videos become one of the main platforms for new artists to gain attention and for consolidated artists to show their latest works. The DIY video approach that initially inundated the MTV in the early 80s soon fade toward huge production budgets and an era where music video cost more than feature film

1992-2004 (The rise of director)

​Nearly 10 years later , MTV began lisitng to Chris Cunningham, Michel Gondry, spike jonze, Floria Sigismondi, Stephane Sednaoui, Mark Romanek all start at this time, with the presence of the young talented director that can express their unique vision and style to the video they directed that become more interested to the audience.

2005 (The era of youtube)

MTV first launched in 2000s  and they focus on new idea made low budget music video go viral and unshackled from the censorship of broadcast television. With the develop of the technology price of digital cameras reduce their price and the quality is improve a lot that make more filmmakers could produce more high quality of footage. As the result that end of the first decade indie filmmakers . In 2005 we saw the launch of Youtube which made the audience of online video much faster and easier.Youtube provides artist and directors to explore new concepts and reach out to a world wide audience, it change the way artist distribute music videos The band "OK Go " capitalized on the growing trend, having achieved fame through the videos for two of their songs, "A Million Ways" in 2005 and "Here It Goes Again"  in 2006, both of which first became well-known online. Seeing the effect on the viewing many artist began to use Youtube to distributed their product
