Designing Digipak

For the Digipak , I used the website call "Flipsnack" and "Canva"

Front cover

Digipak's front cover is the part that i spend the most time in designing because I think they are quite important part of a digipak. When the front cover becomes beautiful and eye-catching, it is easier to attract the audience so I have to spent lots of time doing it and come up with 4 designs. The first one is quite simple and not look really attractive so I has come up with the second design with the bubble text and the blue mix with pink background to create a sense of dreamy to the digipak. After listening to the suggestion of my teacher that the the text is not really stand out , also with many space left around it. Then I came up with the third one, this time I has added some water paint dot to cover up some spaces and change the text font make it look more stand out, lighter and bigger. However, I still don't feel it look very pretty and after hearing feedback from friends, family and teachers I created a final front cover.I have added the images of the 2 characters making a dance video together to engage with the audience

Inside cover

At the beginning inside cover the design quite simple with just only 3 normal footages . After, being added some polaroid photo boarder to 3 pictures which shows the character at their happiest moment, colorful string, and the tape elements from website "Canva"  make it look more attractive, look like all these footages are sticked to the wall for the memories. Moreover, to engage with audience I have added some instruction of making paper airplane which could maybe create a trend for the society

The disc

I was originally going to choose the pink and blue discs but it matched the color of the background so they didn't stand out. After thinking about it, I came up with a solution to choose a black disc to represent the male protagonist mood at the beginning of the MV, which is depression, loneliness, s well as black to help make the design of the disc more prominent  I added elements like hearts, pink lines which cannote the idea that the girl in the mv has come and made his life more colorful, energetic. The paper airplane are my main props in this mv so of course they'll also appear too

The back cover

At the back cover of the digipak, I add the list songs of the Who's care album. On the right hand side of each song, I added its duration to inform the audience about the album's length. On the bottom of the back cover, there is a barcode that I added to follow the standard of the digipak and also look more professional. I used "barcode.tec-it" to create my own barcode to avoid the copy right issues. Our production, record logo are also attached on the right hand side to create our sense of branding too. Next to the barcode is the copyright information shown , warning the audience not to do it, the ownership. Beside it I also added some element for decorating such as the bubble, heart and of course the paper airplane.
